Elder statesman and prominent Kano businessman, Alhaji Gambo Abdullahi Danpass, has called on African leaders to wake up and resist what he described as deliberate attempts by France and the United States to destabilize the continent.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Danpass stressed the need for Nigerian leaders—especially members of the National Assembly—to remain vigilant and determined in preventing Western powers from influencing the country’s security affairs, warning that such interference poses serious dangers.
He cited the expulsion of France from Niger, Burkina Faso, and Chad as examples, noting that the countries took the decision due to France’s alleged instigation of conflicts in the Sahel region and its continued “neo-colonial” ambitions despite granting them independence decades ago.
Danpass further accused the United States of fueling crises and bloodshed in several countries, including Syria, Egypt under President Morsi, Afghanistan, Mali, and Gaza.
The elder statesman urged Nigerians, particularly those in the North, to intensify prayers for divine protection against any form of foreign conspiracy aimed at weakening the region under the guise of assisting with security challenges or addressing allegations of Christian genocide.
He also emphasized the need for Nigerians to unite against any strategy designed to destabilize the nation through subtle or direct Western tactics.
Danpass expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides of Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, highlighting progress in education, healthcare, road rehabilitation, youth and women empowerment, and other social amenities.
He concluded by calling for strong support for Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the 2027 elections, stating that Nigeria needs capable leadership to rescue the country from its current state of decline.
