Kano Gets 5,934 Hajj 2024 Slots, Announces N4.5m Deposit For Intending Pilgrims


Kano state Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced N4.5 million as a deposit for the intending pilgrims of the Hajj 2024.

The Director General of the board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u disclosed this Thursday evening at a press briefing, marking the commncement of the preparations, held at his office in Kano.

He said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has allocated 5,934 seats to the state.

He went on explaining that any intending pilgrims that can not pay the N4.5 million deposit could opt for Hajj Saving Scheme to achieve a dream of performing the holy exercise next year.

According to him, based on the directives by the NAHCON, 60 percent of the total Hajj seats would be allocated to conventional pilgrims while 40 percent should go for Hajj Saving Scheme, under Jaiz Bank.

The D-G further said “We have launched the sells of the seats as we have just finished allocation of the 60 percent of the seats to the 44 Local Government areas of Kano state.

“Therefore we have directed all our Local Government Centre Officers across the state, to commence collecting deposits from the intending pilgrims”.
