Kano NUJ Inaugurates 7-Man Committee For 2024 Delegates Conference In Owerri

The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has inaugurated a dedicated seven-man committee tasked with the responsibility of organizing and overseeing the forthcoming 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference, set to be held in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Council, Abubakar Shehu Kwaru said the conference is scheduled to take place from November 26th to November 28th, 2024.

The statement said the  committee members handpicked on the basis of their exceptional track record and dedication to the union, was officially inaugurated by the Chairman of the council, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi.

Expressing his utmost confidence in the committee members, Comrade Dederi emphasized the importance of their role in ensuring a successful and seamless trip to Owerri, as well as a safe return home for all participants.

Comrade Dederi extended his best wishes to the committee, urging them to carry out their duties diligently and with unwavering commitment.

The committee will be chaired by the Director of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Information, Comrade Usman Bello, while Comrade Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu of Radio kano, Nasiru Yusuf Ibrahim of ARTV, Uba Abdullahi of information chapel, the council’s vice chairman Mustapha Gambo, will serve as members while the Assistant Secretary of the council, Hauwa Zahradeen, will also serve as Secretary of the committee.

Responding, the chairman of the committee comrade Usman Bello who applauded the foresight of the current leadership of the council for breaking record in establishing the committee, pledged not to be disappointed.
