KANSIEC To Conduct By-election In Dala, Ghari LGA’s 13th December – Prof. Malumfashi

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has fixed December 13th, 2025, as the date for the conduct of bye-elections in two council wards — Kofar Mazugal in Dala Local Government Area, and Matan Fada in Ghari Local Government Area, following the deaths of the councillors representing the affected wards.
Chairman of the Commission, Professor Sani Lawan Malumfashi announced the date during a meeting with leaders of political parties held at the Commission’s headquarters in Kano.
According to him, political parties are expected to nominate their candidates between November 14th and 20th, while the sale of nomination forms will take place from November 20th to 26th, with submission closing on November 27th.

He further explained that screening of candidates will be conducted on November 28th, after which the list of qualified and disqualified candidates will be displayed for public scrutiny.
Parties will be allowed to substitute their candidates on November 29th, ahead of the commencement of campaigns.
Professor Lawan stated that political campaigns will last for two weeks, ending on November 29th, to give all participating parties equal opportunity to reach out to their supporters.

Reiterating the Commission’s commitment to transparency and fairness, the KANSIEC chairman assured that the bye-election will be credible, free, and fair, giving every political party equql opportunities.
He added that provision of KANSIEC law clearly stated mandate to give each community full representations at local government council’s.
The meeting was attended by representatives of several political parties, including the Action Alliance (AA), Zenith’s Labour Party (ZLP), Allied People’s Movement (APM), Action Democratic Party (ADP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and Boot Party.
