KNSG Warns Primary, Post Primary Schools Teachers Against Lateness, Absenteeism

Kano State Government has warned Primary and Post Primary Schools teachers to avoid lateness or absenteeism while discharging their primary assignment.

The State Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa gave the warning today, Monday during an unshielded visit to some schools as part of the ministry’s effort to ensure punctuality and efficiency among the teaching staff.

The Commissioner announced that government would no longer tolerate any act of nonchalant attitude to work which according to him, continues to undermine effort in providing qualitative education in the state.

In a statement signed by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Doguwa lamented that it is unfortunate to discover that a voluntary teacher is becoming serious by coming to school on time while a permanent teacher use to report late or even absent.

“I want to strongly issue this warning that as from now, we are going to take a disciplinary action against any body who maintains the habit of coming to school late or being absent to school with out any reason,” said Doguwa

While appreciating what he witnessed at Government Girls Secondary School Gabasawa, Commissioner Doguwa said…” the Principal of Government Secondary School Gabasawa deserves to be commended for her dedication to duty and initiative to make the school beautiful, we are going to give her a commendation letter for the job well done.

“Honestly, what the present administration is expecting from our staff is hardworking and commitment which eventually leads to the success of government policies on education,” he stressed.

The Commissioner visited about 14 Schools which include Government Secondary School Gabasawa, Government Junior Secondary School Gabasawa, Government Girls Secondary Schools Coexist (cikawa) Gabasawa and Government Secondary School Kawo Coexist Gabasawa.

Others were Gurjiya Primary School Gabasawa, Government Secondary School Gurima, Government Girls Secondary School Kunya, Minjibir and French College Kwankwaso.
