NSCDC Strengthens Ties With EFCC, Fire Service in Kano

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kano Zonal Directorate, and the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service (FFS). The visits are part of ongoing efforts to deepen inter-agency cooperation for enhanced security and safety operations in the state.
During his visit to the EFCC Zonal Office, Commandant Agalama reiterated the Corps’ commitment to supporting the Commission in the fight against financial crimes, safeguarding critical national assets, and boosting intelligence sharing. He stressed that synergy among security and law enforcement agencies is crucial in tackling corruption, economic sabotage, and other criminal activities.
In his response, the EFCC Zonal Director, Mr. Friday Abole, welcomed the NSCDC Commandant and described the visit as both timely and strategic. He expressed the Commission’s readiness to strengthen collaboration, particularly in joint operations, information sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
Commandant Agalama also visited the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Engineer Kazeem Sholadoye. Discussions centered on emergency response, disaster management, fire prevention campaigns, and the protection of lives and property across the state.
Engineer Sholadoye commended the NSCDC for its consistent support, especially in crowd control, enforcement of safety standards, and joint rescue operations. He pledged continued partnership to ensure swift, coordinated responses during fire outbreaks and other emergencies. As part of the visit, fire service operatives conducted a wet fire drill in honour of the Commandant.
In a statement signed by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the Commandant reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to strengthening ties with sister agencies to promote peace, safety, and effective service delivery to the people of Kano State.
