NUT Fagge Provides Eye Care and Glasses to 30 Teachers, Honours 80 for Outstanding Performance

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Fagge Local Government branch, has offered eye care services and medical eye glasses to 30 teachers as part of ongoing efforts to enhance teachers’ welfare and improve the quality of education in the area.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at Fagge Primary School, the branch chairman, Malam Sunusi Abdul, said the initiative was introduced to support teachers’ vision health and ensure they are able to carry out their duties effectively.
The union also presented excellence awards to 80 teachers who have displayed exceptional dedication and professionalism in their respective schools. According to Abdul, the recognition is aimed at motivating teachers and encouraging higher standards of performance across the education sector.
He reaffirmed the union’s commitment to supporting teachers, prioritising their wellbeing, and promoting their professional development in line with the union’s mandate.
In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of Fagge Local Government, Alhaji Nura Ali Suleman, commended the NUT leadership for its steadfast efforts toward improving teachers’ welfare and the education sector as a whole. He noted that such interventions play a significant role in raising the standard of education within the community.
Suleman also lauded the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his continued support to the education sector and for implementing policies aimed at assisting both teachers and students across the state.
Some of the beneficiaries Yunusa Garba Suleman from Governmet Girls Junior Secondary Schook Gladima and Malama Altine Haruna from Abdullahi Ibn Mas’ud Primary School expressed gratitude to the union, stating that the gesture has boosted their morale and strengthened their commitment to educating the public.
Both male and female teachers benefited from the eye-care services and the awards.
