World Rabies Day : The Desease Not Curable, But Preventable – Dr. Inuwa

(World Rabies Day) The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, Kano State Branch, in collaboration with State Ministry of Health and that of Agriculture and Natural Resources, conducted free Rabies and cats vaccination exercise at Karfi Town in Kura Local Government Area.

Speaking at the exercise Thursday 28th September, as part of the World Rabies Day, the Director Animal care Federal Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Musa Mohd Inuwa said, the World Health Organization plans to kick against the disease in Nigeria by the year 2030.

He said the disease is not curable but preventable through annual vaccination.

On his part the Rano Zone veterinary officer Dr. Idris Ibrahim Kyauta said they targeted to vaccinate Five thousand dogs in the area.

The financial secretary of the Association Dr. Auwal Abubakar who satisfied with turn out of the dogs owners he charged them to ensure annual vaccination of their dogs and cats for human and animal safety.
