Hajiya Dada, Mother Of Late President Yar’adua Dies At 102

Hajiya Aya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of former president, late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, has passed away at the age of 102, Monday evening in Katsina.

Dada Yar’Adua will forever be recollected as a woman, who held a unique and heavy position in the Nigeria’s political arena, as the wife and mother to political heavyweights who played key roles in Nigeria’s politics from independence to date.

As a mother of the former Nigerian elected president late Umar Musa Yar’adua, who governed from 2007, until his death in 2010. Her late husband Alhaji Musa Yar’Adua, Mutawallen Katsina, was a Minister of Lagos Affairs during the First Republic.

She was also a mother to late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, a second in command in the Obasanjo-led military regime which lasted for about four years.

Among her children is Col. Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua Rtd. the current Mutawallen Katsina, a serving Senator representing Katsina Central Senatorial District.

Also among of her grandchildren, Murtala Shehu Musa Yar’adua, is a former minister under the administration of president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

According to report, late Dada Yar’adua dies at the age of 102, at Katsina Teaching Hospital, on Monday evening, and her funeral prayer slated to take place at 1:30pm on Tuesday 3rd September, in Katsina Metropolis.
