Kano Government Donates ₦1 Million to Veteran Journalist After Medical Treatment
The Kano State Government has provided financial support of ₦1 million to veteran journalist Lawan Isah Bagwai, following the full settlement of his medical bills after an accident that left him hospitalized.
According to the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Alhaji Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the gesture was extended to the journalist due to his inability to immediately resume work as he continues to recuperate at home.
Presenting the assistance, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, commended the state government for its continued support to journalists across the state.

He also applauded Alhaji Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa and the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for their sustained commitment to the welfare of NUJ members.
In a statement signed by Assistant Secretary of NUJ Kano council Comrade Hauwa Sulaiman Zaharaddeen, Comrade Dederi prayed for the full and speedy recovery of Lawan Isah Bagwai.
