KNSG Commences Medical Outreach In 44 LGA’s

In its commitment to give the outmost priority to the health sector for the well being of its citizenry, Kano State Government has commenced Medical Outreach exercise to be conducted across 44 Local Government Areas.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Medical Outreach, Hon. Mahmoud Tajo Gaya disclosed this Thursday, at a one day orientation workshop of Health Workers on Medical Outreach, organized through his office, held at the Headquarters, Health Management Board, Kano.

According to him, to ensure smooth transition of the program, Kano State Government under the leadership of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has provided logistics support including drugs and Consumables, ambulances and the necessary equipments.

He explained that the exercise launched in November aimed at providing an accessible free medical services to the targeted beneficiaries within the communities, mostly vulnerable people at the nuck and cranny of the state, in line with the compassionate policy of the present administration to its populace.

Earlier in the opening remark, the Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, represented by the Director Pharmaceutical Services, Health Management Board, Pharm Sani Danjuma Haruna charges all the participants to work in line with the Medical professional guidelines that will match the National Health Policy During the Outreach.

He says at the exercise, the selected health workers are expected to cover treatment of patients with deseases that include malaria, ulcer, diabetes, hepatitis b and the conduct of free laboratory test to detect the health status of the beneficiaries.

Also speaking on behalf of the Director Medical Services Kano State Ministry of Health, the Deputy Director Medical Services of the Ministry Dr. Sani Musa advices medical personnel in the exercise to work with sacrifice and above all a dedication and feeling to serve the humanity.

In a form of interactive session, guidelines have been discussed extensively by Pharm Sani Danjuma Haruna, while exhibiting knowledge to the participants about the rational dispensing as well as rational prescription of drugs to the patients. Also Alh Salisu Musa Nabarima, the Deputy Director Medical Laboratory Science HMB, taught on the techniques of laboratory diagnosis and treatment.

Kano Govt Vows To Resume Medical Outreach Soon

Alh Nura Yahaya, a Data Management Specialist at the Kano State Health Management Board, presented papers on data capturing and the importance of data evaluation, during the medical outreach.
