The Kano Concerned Journalists Forum, KCJF, has distributed sanitary pads to 1,013 female students of Government Girls Arabic School Goron Dutse, Kano, to support menstrual hygiene and health education.

Speaking during a sensitisation session on menstrual hygiene, Consultant Gynaecologist at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Nassarawa , Dr. Aisha Auwal, educated the students on proper care during menstruation and the correct use of sanitary pads.

The school’s Director, Hajiya Rabi’atu Ibrahim, commended the forum for the intervention, saying the training and provision of pads would help the girls maintain personal hygiene and stay in school.

KCJF Chairperson, Hajiya Aisha Ahmad Ismail, who was represented by her vice Fatihu Isa, and the forum’s Patron, Comrade Baba Halilu Dantiye, said the donation was aimed at improving the healthcare of female students. They pledged to sustain similar support and called on other organisations to contribute to girls’ education and family well-being.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Aisha Abdullahi, Maryam Abdulrazak Ibrahim, and Aisha Yakubu Abdullahi, said the session was enlightening and expressed gratitude for the pads.

The distribution is part of KCJF’s community service initiatives targeting vulnerable students in Kano.
