KNSG Unveils N650BN Rural Development Plan for 2026-2030

The Kano State Ministry of Rural and Community Development has unveiled a Comprehensive Five-Year Integrated Rural and Sustainable Community Development Plan worth N650 billion to run from 2026 to 2030.
The Commissioner, Hon. Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, disclosed this during a Radio Kano live program ‘Yau Da Gobe’ Programme anchored by Nura Bala Ajingi.
Abdulsalam said the plan is designed to foster collaboration with key stakeholders in Nigeria and abroad and align with the Global Sustainable Development Goals, the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Kano First Agenda.
He explained that the projects will focus on provision of clean water, on thousands boreholes, primary healthcare, dispensaries, road networks, agriculture, youth training and other community development interventions.
The Commissioner announced that 400 youths will soon be trained in various vocational skills including solar installation, borehole repair, electrification and other self-reliance businesses.
According to him, participants will receive training kits, N25,000 monthly allowance for six months, and certificates upon completion.
The Ministry of Rural and Community Development is a big ministry that touches all human activities and development. Our goal is to improve living standards in rural communities and empower our youths for self-reliance,” Abdulsalam said.
