KASSOSA Distributes 2,000 JAMB Forms to Less Previllage, Offers carreer Guidance for the year 2026 tertiary admission, and Calls for Reopening of Closed Science Schools

The Kano Science Schools Old Students Association, KASSOSA ( Kano and Jigawa States) , has called on the Kano State Government to reopen closed science schools and support efforts to improve learning facilities in existing ones.
The Assistant Education Secretary of the Association, *Comrade Abdullahi Hassan Abdullahi of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Abuja* and an alumnus of Maitama Sule Science College Gaya, Class 2002 made the call during a Radio Kano programme on Sunday 5th July, 2026.
Comrade Abdullahi urged students who have written JAMB and their parents or guardians to contact teachers or KASSOSA members for guidance on admission processes into higher institutions.
He said that it’s part of KASSOSA tradition to visit science schools across the state to offer career guidance and mentorship to students.
He expressed satisfaction with government support and contributions by old students towards maintaining academic standards and the image of science schools in Kano and Jigawa. He also commended old students of Maitama Sule Science College Gaya for initiating the perimeter fencing of the school which they are planning to commence before the end of the year 2026.
Also speaking, a member of the association, *Professor Balarabe Usman Getso of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudi*, and an *alumnus of Dawakin Kudu Science College, Class of 1987 said KASSOSA members are committed to sponsoring scholarships for orphans and less privileged students, as well as providing welfare support to members.
He disclosed that the association purchases about 2,000 JAMB forms yearly for distribution to indigent students as part of efforts to complement the work of past teachers and school administrators.
Professor Balarabe Getso added that KASSOSA has members across Nigeria and abroad who are ready to assist students seeking further studies and to address welfare issues affecting members.
He described all members of the association as one family committed to advancing science and technology education in Kano and Jigawa States, noting that the union boasts professionals in various fields of science and technology.
