Rabies Vaccine Best Protective – Dr. Mubasshar

Veterinary Doctor has described rabies routine immunization as the best protective measures against the disease.

Dr. Mubasshar Mustafa stated this at a sensitization workshop, organized for Media practioners on rabies and other zoonotic diseases held in kano.

Dr. Mubasshar who spoke on the dangers of the disease to human and animals, said it causes thousands of death across the world.

He further said the symptoms of the disease are severe fever, aggressive and other abnormal behaviors of dog.

On his part, the state chairman of Nigerian veterinary Medical Association Dr. Abubakar Sani emphasized the need to review Animal Care Act, established in 1969 and ensure enforcement of the law.

He charged victims of dog bites to wash the the wound with soap immediately, and rush to the hospital for urgent medical response.

Some of the participants at the workshop pledged to educate the public on dangers behind the disease and protective measures.
